South Dublin County Sports Partnership in conjunction with Coaching Ireland will be running a Certified Coaching Children Programme for a 4 week period beginning on Monday, 13th March 2017.

Coaching Ireland have developed 4 modules, specifically to  provide candidates with a better understanding of children’s sport and physical activity and best ways to optimise children’s enjoyment, participation and positive outcomes. 

The workshops will take place over 4 Monday’s from 6.30pm – 9.30pm in Kishoge Community College, Ninth Lock Rd (off the Outer Link Road), Lucan, Co. Dublin

Workshop 1: Coaching Children Successfully in Sport – An Introduction for Coaches – 13th March

Workshop 2:  Child-Centred Coaching – Understanding Child Development & Learning and its Impact on How We Coach – 20th March

Workshop 3:  Developing Physical Literacy through Sport 1 – Coaching Children to Move – 27th March

Workshop 4:  Developing Physical Literacy through Sport 2 – 3rd April.

“I have being coaching over 20 years at different levels from school to assistant coach to Irish u18 girls. What the course made me do was re-evaluate the way that I approach coaching the younger players. It also made me realise that the coaches that coach children need to be better educated sports wise than coaching seniors.
