The Echo Amateur Sports Awards

Congratulations to all the winners in The Echo Amateur Sports Awards, in conjunction with South Dublin County Sports Partnership and Green Isle Hotel, which were announced last night.

Sportsperson of the Year – South Dublin Taekwondo’s Jack Woolley

Team of the Year – Ballyboden St Enda’s

Club of the Year – Donore Harriers

Club Development of the Year – Greenhills Archers

Coach of the Year – Terry Staunton, Oblate Dynamos

Volunteer of the Year – Edward O’Riordan, Cumman na mBunscoil.

Hall of Fame – Paddy Hyland

Leading Light awards were also handed out on the night to Tallaght natives Brandon Miele, Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk FC manager Stephen Kenny, while Paralympic footballers, Brian McGillivary and Dillon Sheridan were also recognised.

Some of the local members of the Irish Special Olympics team who competed so well in the LA during the summer received special recognition awards.

Well done to all the monthly individual and team award winners over the year!!
